Chops ("we", "us", "our") is a sole proprietorship owned by James Davis, trading from 65 West 12th Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80204, United States. This policy explains what personal information we collect through chops.aljarash.com and in the course of running our butchery, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What we collect

• Information you give us: name, email address, telephone number, delivery address and the contents of any message you send us about an order, class or wholesale account.
• Transaction information: order details, cut sheets, delivery dates and payment status. Card payments are processed in store by our payment provider; we never see or store full card numbers.
• Technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the pages you view. This is collected only in server logs and, if you consent, through analytics cookies.

This website has no account system, no checkout and no database. The contact form opens your own email client; it does not transmit anything to our servers.

3. Why we use it

• To answer enquiries and fulfil orders you have placed (performance of a contract).
• To keep records required by food safety, tax and consumer law (legal obligation).
• To protect the website from abuse and to understand which pages are useful (legitimate interests).
• To send occasional shop news, only where you have asked to receive it (consent). Every email carries an unsubscribe link.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies, described in full in our Cookie Policy. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set after you accept them in the banner, and you can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with: our web host and email provider; our payment processor; delivery staff performing your delivery; our accountant; and public authorities where the law requires it. All service providers are bound by contract to protect the data.

6. International transfers

Our website and email are hosted in the United States. If you contact us from outside the US, your information will be processed in the US under appropriate safeguards.

7. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become orders are deleted within 12 months. Order and invoice records are kept for 7 years to meet tax requirements. Marketing consent records are kept until you withdraw consent, plus 2 years.

8. Your rights

You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. Colorado residents also have rights under the Colorado Privacy Act, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data — note that we do not sell personal data. To exercise any right, email admin@chops.aljarash.com. We respond within 45 days and may ask you to verify your identity. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Colorado Attorney General.

9. Children

This website is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Order paperwork is kept in a locked office and electronic records are held in access-controlled accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information.

11. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, place a notice on the home page.
